Volunteer Work
|
St Vincent De Paul 2012-present
I currently volunteer for the organisation St Vincent De Paul as the president of the Thebarton Conference and as a representative for South Australia in the National Youth Team (NYT). St Vincent De Paul is a lay Catholic organisation that works towards a more just and compassionate society by giving people a 'hand up'. My role as a volunteer includes organising and doing home visitations, organising meetings, attending NYT meetings, fundraising, attending functions and leadership days and recruiting. |
President of the Alice Springs Catholic Young Adults Group 2010
As President of the Catholic Young Adults Group in Alice Springs I was in charge of organising youth masses, meetings, representing the youth at the Church council meetings, organising fundraisers, retreats and social events. I thoroughly enjoyed taking the responsibility as president and learnt a lot of leadership, team building and organisational skills.
Riding for the Disabled
Volunteering for Riding for the Disabled gave me a good understanding of different disabilities and how they can effect peoples lives. Not only did I learn how to help riders, but i also learnt skills in differentiation and putting to practice different techniques to help the riders and horses work as one.
